A XLC bicycle tube is predominantly made of a very elastic and airtight synthetic rubber called Butyl. This high elasticity XLC tubes allows a wide range of different tire sizes to be covered.
From XLC: "It can happen so quickly, whether you’re on the way to work or on your favourite off-road trail - the danger of a flat tyre at always there, for every bike. Of course you can patch a hole in the tube for the time being, but it’s only a question of time to the next unscheduled halt. That’s why it’s always a good idea to have an XLC spare tube and XLC tyre lever in your saddlebag. When choosing a new tube, make sure you buy the right size, the right valve (see icons) and of course you must make sure you buy the right sort of tube for your bike. If you have a racing bike, then the tube must be light and flexible, preferably made of latex. For touring bikes it’s important that the tube is robust and durable."
